Life Lately
Last week was our anniversary, and we had the best time celebrating in Nashville!

The first place we headed was the Jon Bon Jovi Bar, so I could relive my teenage obsession. My first real concert was Bon Jovi when I was 16 years old during the “Slippery When Wet” era, and in the ensuing decades, I’ve made it to almost every tour. That’s a whole lotta Bon Jovi!
We had dinner and drinks on the JBJ rooftop and enjoyed the live band.

That wasn’t the only bar we visited over the course of the next few days. In fact, I’m pretty sure we visited every single one on Broadway– a few more than once!

We took a bit of time away from the hustle and bustle of Broadway to head out to the Opryland area. We visited the giant Gaylord Opryland Resort, and of course, no trip to Nashville is complete without tickets to The Grand Ole Opry!

We even spent a morning at the Belle Meade Plantation and winery, and obviously, we brought home a couple of bottles.

Neither my husband nor I had been to Nashville before, but I’d definitely like to go again. It was a fun, fall escape.
In Case You Missed It…
Speaking of fall, here are a couple of my favorite fall recipes now that the weather is taking a turn toward cooler days.

Thank you for featuring my Pumpkin Pie Cinnamon Rolls with Maple icing! My family loves them! … we loved our visit to Nashville years ago too. We’d been to wonderful hotels & resorts all over the world, but by far, the Gaylord Opry is the most incredible hotel we’ve ever stayed in! All the rooms have balconies with French doors which open onto that HUGE atrium with streams (and even shops) in the interior! Worth the price to stay there one night. My youngest granddaughter is a high school senior this year, and a couple of weekends ago, my daughter and SIL took her to Nashville to visit Tenn & Vanderbilt in her search for the perfect college to go to next year. I thought once she’d experienced Nashville at night, there wouldn’t be a contest but I think she’s decided on Oklahama U (Sooners) b/c her brother is a junior there now (and it’s close enough for her to drive home ~ we live north of Dallas)
I agree Cindy! The Gaylord Opry Resort was magical! We had lunch inside and toured all the shops and just were in awe. They even had their Christmas decor up already, including a massive tree!
Once of my nieces graduated from Oklahoma U about 4 years ago. Great school!
What a great celebration – Happy Anniversary! By the way, I live in NJ (Bon Jovi country) and there’s actually a rest stop on the Garden State Parkway named for Bon Jovi! Too funny, right? Thanks for hosting and enjoy your week!

Ha,how funny that they named a rest stop after Bon Jovi!
