BLT Pizza

A delicious twist on a classic sandwich! A perfect way to use all your fresh garden tomatoes, too!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pizza crust
  • 1 pound tomatoes cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices
  • ¾ tsp black pepper
  • cup mayonaise
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp chives minced
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic diced
  • 8 slices bacon cooked
  • cups mozzarella cheese
  • shredded lettuce

Instructions
 

  • Place a pizza stone on bottom oven rack. Preheat oven to 400°.
  • Arrange tomato slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place baking sheet directly on pizza stone. Roast tomatoes at 400° for 20 minutes or until a good amount of the juice as evaporated . Remove tomatoes; keep stone in oven.
  • In a small bowl, mix the mayo, oil, chives, and garlic.
  • With floured hands, pat pizza dough into a 10-inch circle and transfer to preheated pizza stone. Bake at 400° for 8 minutes. If you are using a pre-made crust, omit this step.
  • Remove pizza stone with crust from oven. Brush mayo mixture over crust, leaving a 1-inch border; top with tomatoes and bacon and cheese.
  • Bake 10 minutes more, or until cheese melts and crust browns. Top with shredded lettuce. and cut into slices.
