My favorite things– 2021 edition is here.
Raindrops on roses
and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things…
I had to do it.
It just wouldn’t be my annual Favorite Things post if I didn’t begin by getting you to sing along to one of my favorite songs from The Sound of Music.
Are you singing along in your head now? Good….🎶
I’m bringing this post to you a little early, because I’m sure you’ve heard all about the supply chain issues that are expected to put a crimp in our online shopping endeavors this year.
I am an avid online shopper. I don’t like crowds, and I don’t like chaos, so Black Friday shopping in the stores is not for me.
Despite the supply chain issues, I still plan to do all, or at least most, of my shopping online this year, I’m just getting an earlier start to compensate for potentially longer shipping times and lower inventory.
The early bird gets the worm, you know.
So, in the interest of helping you catch more “worms” this year, I’m sharing with you a few of my favorite things at the moment.
Some of these have been gifts given to me, and some I’ve bought myself, but all of them are items that have made life a little easier, a little happier, or a little prettier this year…

Favorite Things 2021
This faux fur is so soft. It looks pretty draped across the back of a chair in my neutral-colored living room, but it’s also so cozy to cover up with on cold winter mornings while sipping coffee. It feels absolutely luxurious and it’s on sale right now for a great price at Pottery Barn!
I love the variety of inspirational and motivational quotes and verses you can choose from, as well as the many different bead and metal colors. You can easily find something for the special ladies on your list!

I’ve recently become a Branded Blogger with Dixie Belle Paint Company and I couldn’t be more excited. I’m having so much fun creating projects with my Dixie Bell paints. If you have someone on your list who is crafty or likes to tackle DIY projects, a gift basket with some Dixie Belle paints would be such a fun gift!
Dixie Belle even offers a few different sample packs with a choice of colors, and some painting tools included.
In my opinion, there is no better gift than books for the children in your life. I recently gifted my future granddaughter a bookcase filled with some of my new and old favorites.
If you have littles in your life, what about a gift bag filled with several fun books?
PurpleTrail recently gifted me this customized content planner for bloggers, and I love it!
After trying it out myself, I quickly realized the potential it holds for customizable and personalized gifts for so many people on your list!
They sell a wide range of everyday planners and academic planners for teachers and students, but they also have specialty planners specifically for wedding planning, moms-to-be, meal planning, business planners, fitness planners…. and they are all customizable.
This is a great gift for the people on your list who like (or need?) to stay organized!
Tailored Canvases recently reached out to me and asked if I’d like to try a couple of their custom canvases. After taking a spin around their website, I was super excited to select a couple of canvases for my home, and then work with their custom designers to personalize them exactly how I wanted them.
With their help, I’ve created two different canvases for The House on Silverado, and am waiting for them to arrive. I can’t wait to show you the finished pieces!
These are so unique and would make amazing one-of-a-kind gifts. You can check out all of their offerings HERE.
We took a break from Hello Fresh over the summer, when I was home and had more time to cook, plus a home garden exploding with fresh produce that we needed to use.
But now that we’re back in the grind of a new (exhausting) school year, we’re utilizing Hello Fresh Meal Kit Delivery again. It’s just such a relief to quickly choose the meals we want online, and then all the ingredients and the recipe show up at the door.
My husband and I enjoy turning on some music, opening a bottle of wine, and cooking the Hello Fresh meals together, which then becomes a relaxing and fun activity that ends with a good meal!
Hello Fresh makes it easy for you to gift a set number of weekly boxes to someone on your list as well.
Last year, I gave my son and his girlfriend, who also love to cook, a few weeks of delivered boxes on me, and then they could choose to carry on the subscription on their own, or cancel.
It really is the gift that keeps on giving.
Happy shopping, friends,
