Life Lately
Now that our little sweetie, Evelynn, and her mom and dad are home from the NICU and settled, we finally got to have “Christmas” with them!
A long weekend (MLK) and a major snowstorm actually kind of made it feel like Christmas!
We did our best to recreate the holiday vibe with Christmas dinner, treats, holiday decor, and gifts. 🌲🎁
Gigi & Evie
Trying to stay awake to open gifts The best gift of all
Pops and Evie Famous Dutch Letter Bars dressed up with Christmas sprinkles
Book and toy from Uncle Matthew & Adri Christmas wore her out
The day after “Christmas”, Evie obliged us and agreed to a little fashion show.
The rainbow crocheted blanket in these pics was made by my mom (Evelynn Irene’s namesake) and was a baby shower gift for my daughter more than 27 years ago. It’s destined to be a family heirloom, no doubt.
Crocheted by Great-Grandma Irene 27 years ago Loved by my Gigi 💕
My mom also made this entire little pink crocheted outfit for Evelynn’s mom when she was a baby. It is complete with a sweater, bonnet, pants, and booties. Doesn’t Evie look pretty in pink? Lots of pink! 😍
And finally, the little stocking cap Evie has on in the last pic was the one they placed on her mother’s head when she was born 27 years ago.
It was such a good weekend.

So happy for you and your family! Belated Merry Christmas to you!
What a precious little darling Evelynn is! I loved seeing all these wonderful photos of her, Niky. Thanks for sharing them! And the rainbow blanket really caught my eye because I have one in that same crochet pattern in pink, white, and blue that my mother made when she was pregnant with me 47 years ago. She brought me home from the hospital in it and I brought both of my boys home from the hospital wrapped in the same old blanket! It is such a lovely keepsake to pass down through the generations. Yours is definitely destined for heirloom status just like mine!

Awww, your “heirloom” blanket is even older than ours! Such a treasure to keep and use with each new generation.
