Sundays on Silverado #48

Life Lately

Happy Fourth of July, friends!

We just got back from a two-week road trip and I’m trying so hard to catch up on real-world responsibilities again. Is it possible to be rejuvenated and exhausted at the same time? That’s where I’m at right now…

But, I’ll tell ya, getting out and actually seeing more of this beautiful country we live in was the perfect way to remind me of how blessed we are, and how much we have to celebrate this holiday weekend.

I hope to get a more thorough post of our epic road trip written up, but for now here’s a little sneak peek:

Fresh air, sunshine, adventures, and all of nature’s wonders…. It was exactly what we needed.

Today, my husband is smoking a couple of briskets, my mother-in-law is bringing her famous cheesey potatoes, and I made a corn succatash inspired by a wonderful meal we had on vacation! Since we were gone on Father’s Day, we are also celebrating that today, with gifts and homemade blackberry pie, which was the one thing my husband requested.

Oh, and there’s one more “tiny” little thing to celebrate… 🍼💕 She’s due to arrive this winter and make me a “Gigi” for the first time. My heart is filled with so many emotions that I have no words to express it all. My baby girl is having a baby girl of her own. ❤️ Yes, there’s so much to celebrate.

Mother’s Day gifts from my daughter. And granddaughter. 💕

In Case You Missed It…

Summer makes me want to mix up fresh and fruity flavored cocktails to beat the heat, and this Easy Coconut & Lime Mojito recipe is so refreshing. It’s the perfect way to use up all the crazy mint growing in my garden, too!

This week I also shared how I made over these old baskets that used to be storage in my laundry room in my previous home. With a simple coat of spray paint, and some rustic embellishments, I gave them a whole new life.

The Weekly Features!

I love, love, love all the beatiful patriotic decor ya’ll have been sharing. Because we were traveling for a big chunk of June, I didn’t get out all of my July 4th decor, so I’m living vicariously through yours!
