Sundays on Silverado #42

Life Lately

I’m just going to leave this right here to explain how I feel about how the week went around here. If you are a teacher in Iowa, you will likely understand this meme perfectly. If you are not a teacher in Iowa right now, you should count yourself extremely lucky.

In Case You Missed It..

In other news, the dumpster-fire that is politics in Iowa right now is making me crave a vacation even more. I’m sure it was no accident that my posts this week reflect that.

The Weekly Features!

All the bright, beautiful, sunshiney yellow posts caught my attention this week. It must be because we’ve been blanketed in rain and clouds, figuratively and literally, allllllll week long around here. These beautiful posts helped brighten my mood while we wait for the sun to return…. 🌦🌥⛅️🌤☀️

  1. I’m pretty sure I know what you’re referring to, Niky. Teaching is difficult enough without a pandemic, masks, online teaching, etc. I retired a few years ago after 28 years of teaching and have never regretted it. My heart goes out to you and teachers everywhere!
Thank you for hosting this lovely party.

  2. Such rough times we are surviving through. I hope things improve for you. Thank you for hosting, and beautiful features with cheerful yellows.

  3. There is a dumpster fire of politics no matter where you go. My school district is the epic-center for their multiple dumpster fires. They have made national news for their missteps.

Our School Superintendent (who I love) was going to retire in June but he was lured back for the 21-22 school year with a provision in his contract that requires the school commissioners (school board) to act “in a dignified and professional manner”. What does that say???

Hope things get better for you. Summer is almost here. I have one more day of in-person and two days of on-line.

The kooky 2020-2021 school year is almost over.

Thanks for hosting and I hope you have a wonderful week.

  4. I hope your school year finishes well and you can relax and recharge a bit this summer. As a fellow teacher, I completely understand the challenges of this time of year. I don’t know what is happening in Iowa, but I wish you and your colleagues a peaceful end to the year.
Thank you for hosting such a fun link party! Love your beautiful features, Niky!

  5. The end of a normal school year is always so hard and it wears you out to the core. I don’t know what is going on in Iowa schools now but I hope it soon lets up and gives you some peace.

  6. Oh Nicky I’m sorry you’re having such a time over there! I don’t know the details, but it sounds like you’re not being treated as well as teachers deserve! With that off my chest, your lovely yellow features are so springy and happy! Thanks for the joy amidst the fires, and hope things look up for you soon!
