Life Lately
My brother-in-law and his family came for a visit. We haven’t seen them in quite a while, so it was so nice to catch up. Those moments of family gathered around the table, talking and laughing, long after dinner is over is one of the things I’ve missed so much because of the pandemic.
I set a pretty, but casual table, served one of our favorite dishes–Balsamic Chicken with Fresh Tomatoes, which is easy to multiply for a crowd, and made a couple of simple berry tarts for dessert.

I shared a gift guide for Mother’s Day, which is right around the corner. 💕🌷 I baked Bakery Style Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookies that you really need to try. 😀🍪
My rhubarb is coming in so well this spring that it has me excited to start making some of our favorite rhubarb creations. This post of The Best Rhubarb Recipes picked up a lot of traction on social media this week, and there were so many comments about others’ favorite rhubarb recipes, too! I can wait to try some new ones!
I participated in a fun garden blog hop, and contributed my DIY Farmhouse Herb Garden Box. I think this weekend I’ll visit the greenhouse up the road and see what herbs they have right now. 🌱

The three beautiful features below from Trisha, Jenna, and Renae got me thinking about some of my favorite brunch parties, and I went back into the archives to retrieve a couple of them. ❤️
A Birthday Tea Party for my mother-in-law, and A Bridal Shower for my daughter are two of my favorite brunch parties I’ve hosted.
With Mother’s Day coming up, any of these brunch ideas could be easily adapted to create a lovely brunch in honor of Mom.

How lovely it is to be able to start to mix with family again, we did the same this weekend with my family as it was my sister s 40th birthday. We had to visit in a tag-team style as we’d have been too many people gathering otherwise, but it was lovely nine-the-less. Oh, those berry tarts look divine by the way.
Yes, we’ve been visiting with family the same way–smaller groups at a time, but it is nice to be able to do even that again! 🙂 Take Care!
It is so nice you had family over for a visit–almost feels like normal times again!
So glad you had some family time Niky, and wow your cookies look insanely good! Thanks so much for featuring my Spring Charcuterie Spread, that was so much fun. Have a great week ahead!
Thanks for the party Niky. It is nice to start flexing our social muscles again. Thanks for all the inspiration. Have a great week. XO- MaryJo
