Sundays on Silverado #37

Life Lately

My brother-in-law and his family came for a visit. We haven’t seen them in quite a while, so it was so nice to catch up. Those moments of family gathered around the table, talking and laughing, long after dinner is over is one of the things I’ve missed so much because of the pandemic.

I set a pretty, but casual table, served one of our favorite dishes–Balsamic Chicken with Fresh Tomatoes, which is easy to multiply for a crowd, and made a couple of simple berry tarts for dessert.

In Case You Missed It…

I shared a gift guide for Mother’s Day, which is right around the corner. 💕🌷 I baked Bakery Style Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookies that you really need to try. 😀🍪

My rhubarb is coming in so well this spring that it has me excited to start making some of our favorite rhubarb creations. This post of The Best Rhubarb Recipes picked up a lot of traction on social media this week, and there were so many comments about others’ favorite rhubarb recipes, too! I can wait to try some new ones!

I participated in a fun garden blog hop, and contributed my DIY Farmhouse Herb Garden Box. I think this weekend I’ll visit the greenhouse up the road and see what herbs they have right now. 🌱

The Weekly Features!

Y’all shared so many great spring posts this week with so much inspiration! The flowers, the gardens, the spring home decor…..and several spring brunch speads on beautiful spring tables!

The three beautiful features below from Trisha, Jenna, and Renae got me thinking about some of my favorite brunch parties, and I went back into the archives to retrieve a couple of them. ❤️

A Birthday Tea Party for my mother-in-law, and A Bridal Shower for my daughter are two of my favorite brunch parties I’ve hosted.

With Mother’s Day coming up, any of these brunch ideas could be easily adapted to create a lovely brunch in honor of Mom.

  2. Niky, sounds wonderful. I’m so looking forward to having people over again someday. In the meantime, sometimes I drop off a meal or a snack to friends to tide them over until we can have them over! Thank you for hosting.

  3. So many fun links to dive into this week, Niky! I love all the features you chose. Thanks so much for hosting. I hope your week is a special one, CoCo

  4. How lovely it is to be able to start to mix with family again, we did the same this weekend with my family as it was my sister s 40th birthday. We had to visit in a tag-team style as we’d have been too many people gathering otherwise, but it was lovely nine-the-less. Oh, those berry tarts look divine by the way.

  5. So glad you had some family time Niky, and wow your cookies look insanely good! Thanks so much for featuring my Spring Charcuterie Spread, that was so much fun. Have a great week ahead!

  6. Thank you for hosting, Niky. Isn’t it wonderful that we can begin to think again about hosting parties and gatherings once again? I’m looking so forward to it!

  9. Thanks so much for hosting! I’m linking up with my HAPPY SPRING TRUCK PRINTABLE and OUTSTANDING BLOGGER AWARD – MY WEE ABODE. I’d like to invite you to drop by and linkup at some of my parties.
