Sundays on Silverado #292

Penny St. Pat's haircut

Life Lately

Happy (almost) St. Patrick’s Day!

Penny Puppy got all spruced up this week. Doesn’t she look precious?

Iowa’s weather has been like a boomerang this month. We have had a few beautiful spring-like days, mixed with some chilly days, and even a random snowy morning that was all melted by mid-afternoon.

But Mother Nature isn’t done with us yet. Here’s the forecast for today and tomorrow:

See all that red part? Yup, that’s us. Blizzard warning with winds of 50-60 mph. 😖 St. Patrick’s Day looks to be spent indoors, with a pot of soup in the slow cooker.

I did get to spend some days with the grands this past week.

Hayden and Penny are so cute together.

Hayden is definitely a dog lover, and Penny is so patient with her buddy, through hugs that are maybe a bit too tight, and even random teeth checks. 🤣

Evie got out of school early for spring break, and Hayden was still napping, so she and I had some time to play with dolls.

She always gives me a baby doll that I’m supposed to wrap in a blanket and rock to sleep. If I slack off in my baby-tending duties, I get corrected quickly. ❤️ Her imagination is growing and it’s so fun to play with her.

She’s monitoring me closely to make sure I’m taking appropriate care of my baby. 🤣

On Friday, Baby Claire stopped by for lunch and some playtime. She loves the “choo-choo”.

Weeks filled with grandbabies are the best of all.

In Case You Missed It..

Easter is early this time, so I have to step it up and get things ready for Easter dinner and baskets for the littles!

  1. Penny is adorable! She looks all set to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! I hope you stayed safe during the weather patterns that came our way. We got a lot of snow but were shielded from the wind. Thanks, as always, for the party. We’re sharing #9 and #77 this week. Looks like you had a great time with your grandkids! Your photos are getting me excited – I’m off to spend a week with mine later this week. I can’t wait!

  2. Thank you for featuring my Chocolate Mint marbled Biscotti. I love Spring holidays and baking for them! It’s high 70s ~ low 80s in North Texas but really windy. Our “cold snap” is coming tomorrow (probably from you, no thanks) and will be in the 50s, but I don’t think for long. Daffodils are on the 2nd bloom and pansies are riotus, and strangely dianthus from last summer have gone crazy! Just a light fleece blanket for the week we had snow and now they’re HUGE and covered with flowers!! I’ll be back next week.

    1. Thanks so much, Amy. I’m very blessed with my sweet pup and family for sure.
This weather is crazy, isn’t it? Blizzard and extreme temps and back to spring-like weather in a couple days.
      Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Thanks for hosting each week, Niky! Our weather here in northern Nevada is chaotic, too. 25 degrees tonight and windy; by Wednesday, the high will be near 80 degrees. Crazy! Your pup and grandkids are adorable–our Teddy was groomed yesterday, too. Enjoy the week.
