Happy Valentine’s Weekend! Hope you had a lovely day filled with love. 💕
It’s been a pretty quiet week around here. It was supposed to be my week to stay with the grandbabies, but sadly, everyone was sick. The babies were sick, I was sick, my husband was sick. Blah.
Being stuck at home while not feeling well was extra hard because I was missing the kids so much. Plus, I had some Valentine surprises to take to them that will now have to be delivered late.
Fortunately, by yesterday, my husband and I were finally both well enough to get our bikes out for the first time this year! We had an unseasonably warm day for Iowa of 66 degrees! We still had to bundle up, but it felt so good to be out on the trails.
For years, I had a gorgeous, hot pink Trek road bike that I loved so much, but when I started having trouble with my hips, it became very painful to ride. In 2024, I had a double hip replacement and was able to start riding again after a few months!
Then, last summer, my husband and I purchased these:
We haven’t started towing a car yet with our motorhome, so taking these with us when we travel has given us a nice option for getting around and made for some fun adventures as well!

Do you decorate for St. Patrick’s Day after Valentine’s Day, or go straight to Easter decor? I’m ready to get some of my spring things out.
A couple of years ago, I tried my hand at making my own King Cake. It was fun to make, and pretty good, if I do say so myself.

I hope you are feeling better and that you get to see your grandkids soon, Niky! We were with our Littles the first two weekends in February and, low and behold, both my husband and I got sick soon after. The price we pay for all those sweet snuggles! Love your bikes, too! Looks like you’ll have a great spring once it truly arrives!

I do have a few items that I put out for St. Patrick’s Day but with Easter being the first week in April. will most likely put out Easter decor sooner than later. I am ready for some Spring! Thanks for hosting, Nikki.
So sorry you were sick – hope you are on the mend! LOVE your new bikes. I am inspired. We had bikes ( mine from high school days, but a Peugeot bike I loved !) – but for years and years we lived in a very hilly neighborhood and it was too much. Now retired and living in a better place I am thinking of getting a new bike!
I’m so glad we are able to enjoy biking again. It’s great to get out in nature and get some excercise too!
I just bought an Aventon this past fall but I haven’t had the chance to ride it yet. I’m scared to death to get on it for the first time. Please tell me it’s easier than it looks. Thanks for the party.

I was a bit nervous with my ebike at first, too. We took it to an empty church parking lot and practiced for awhile so I could get a handle on how the gears and brakes worked, etc. Afte that, I was ready for the trails!
