Sundays on Silverado #261

Hayden and Penny

Life Lately

Holy Moly, we had a busy week around here!

We spent so much time with friends and family. I’m exhausted, but happy.

As I told you last week, we had college friends staying with us Friday night.

Son Kyle, daughter Lauren, and grandbaby Claire visited Saturday.

And then Sunday, we had a full house of family in town for a funeral. My son-in-law’s grandmother passed away. Although I only knew her for a short time, it was clear that she was a remarkable woman with a deep love for her husband and family. Berta and Joe were married for 74 years!

On Wednesday, I headed out of town to stay at the grandbabies’ house for a couple of days.

Evie is playing tee ball for tiny tots, and I got to attend her second practice. My heart can’t stand the cuteness!

She watched so closely and picked up on what she was supposed to do, smiling the whole time. ❤️ It was all so precious.

We packed a lot into three days!

We played in the water and had a picnic.

We went to the park and the splash pad. Hayden had no qualms about sticking his face right in the spray!

Penny Puppy came along, too. It’s so fun to watch her with the kids. Hayden and Penny have become little buddies. ❤️🐾

In Case You Missed It…

The August garden is keeping me busy! Here are a few of my favorite recipes to use up our bounty! Click the pics for full recipes. (The Tuscan Chicken with Cherry Tomatoes recipe is in the number one spot on Google right now, so I know y’all are searching for ways to use those cherry tomatoes!)

  1. So sorry for the death in your family – 74 years married! What a blessing – and what a beautiful family you have!

  2. Thank you for sharing my Honey Bee-scotti! and for sharing snapshot moments of your life with the grands! My youngest Texas granddaughter is just starting OU (Oklahoma), so all 5 of those grands are now in college (3 @ OU ~ 1 @ Arkansas & 1 @ U of So. Carolina). The years go so fast! I remember T-ball days ~ and soccer when they were about 4 (my son-in-law asked 1 of my granddaughters why she didn’t try to take the ball away, and she said it wasn’t polite!!). Enjoy them and keep us involved too.
