Life Lately
Over the weekend, we camped to celebrate Father’s Day. We had a beautiful campsite right next to the water.
We drove out and set up camp after Mark got off work Friday night. Then we relaxed with charcuterie, wine, and a pretty view.
Penny decided her new favorite spot was the lower shelf of our camp table. This folding table is a Father’s Day gift from a few of years ago, and we’ve gotten so much use out of it.
After our dinner, we took a walk along the bike path adjacent to the water just as the sun was setting.
On Saturday, more of our big kids, as well as our smallest grandbaby, Claire, showed up to have a Father’s Day picnic with us.
I got this fun camping flag for one of my husband’s gifts. It’s completely customizable. Even Penny is represented!
On Sunday morning, we had a relaxing breakfast on the Blackstone. I also baked up this Butter Braid I bought from one of Evie’s preschool fundraisers.
Mark got to relax awhile and enjoy his breakfast before breaking camp and heading home.
Later in the week, I spent a couple of days in one of my favorite places again–visiting Evie & Hayden.
Penny came along again. She loves hanging out with the kids, and they love her, too.
On Wednesday, Evie got to go on a special outing with her mom to get her first pedicure!
Before she went, she chose a pretty summer dress, and let me fix her hair into a “Topsy Tail” just like I used to do her mama’s hair so many years ago. ❤️
Her mom sent me these pics of her enjoying every minute of her special treat. How does she look so grown up already?
She ended up with sweet little pink polished toes with yellow and white flowers, her choice.
While Evie was off having a girls’ day with her mom, Hayden and I went to the Target drive-up to pick up a water table I had ordered for the kids. It was a rainy day, with lots of hot weather in the forecast ahead, so I thought it would be a good way to keep them entertained in the protection of the screened porch.
The next day was perfect pool weather, and fortunately, there’s a fabulous pool right near the kids’ house.
I didn’t get many pics because I didn’t carry my phone into the pool, but we had so much fun in the kiddie area, and pushing the kids on floats through the lazy river.
I loved every minute of it and can’t wait to go again. Summer is the best. ☀️
