Sundays on Silverado #231

Penny Dec 2024

Life Lately

Yesterday, I introduced you to the newest member of The House on Silverado family; Penny the rescue pup.

Penny

She’s been keeping us so busy. The last month feels like a blur. Puppies are hard work, y’all.

After I posted about her yesterday, someone asked me how she got her name, so I thought I’d share.

She’s named after Penny from the Disney movie, The Rescuers. Little Penny from the movie is shy and timid, just like our Penny Pup.

Not only that, but the evil villain who kidnapped Penny in the movie looks an awful lot like the hoarder who mistreated so many dogs. Seriously, there’s a resemblance.

But in the end of the movie, Penny is rescued and adopted by a loving family, just like our Penny.

We had a long list of potential dog names, but Penny was definitely the right one for her.

If you want to know more about Penny’s story, you can check out this post from yesterday.

In Case You Missed It…

Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day? I usually do. There are so many cute and simple ways to add a little pink (my favorite color!) to the decor.

Here are a couple of my favorites from past years.

  1. Penny is absolutely adorable! It can be so tough as a new puppy or indeed an adult dog settles into a new home – she will get there in the end. She’s a beauty.xxx

  2. Niky, your new little gal is so adorable. She will be a wonderful family member to grow up with your grands. Thanks so much for sharing my post this week. Have a wonderful Sunday.

  3. Learning about your Penny was nice, I appreciate anyone who adopts a new to them bundle of joy! It isn’t always easy, but then again neither is every human we share our lives with, LOL Thanks for the feature of my post Make Ahead Meatballs, all beef or with sausage. Melynda @scratchmadefood!
