Sundays on Silverado #223

Evie and Hayden Christmas tree jammies

Life Lately

I had the idea to put pictures of the grandbabies in these pretty frames on the mantel above their new stockings.

Stockings 2024

When I was visiting last week, we dressed the kids in some matching Christmas pajamas and did everything possible to get both kids to sit still in front of the tree and smile at the same time.

Here’s how that went…

We had three adults acting like lunatics trying to get a good photo, to no avail. I was sweating when we finally gave up. 🤣 I still love how this series of photos turned out, though. Funny memories, even if I didn’t get the perfect shot. We can try again later, but I wouldn’t sacrifice these moments for anything.

In Case You Missed It…

It’s been a while since I got two new posts up in the same week! Christmas season on the horizon has inspired me, I guess.

I was doing a bit of early Christmas shopping recently and stopped at Starbucks for a little pick-me-up. I tried their new Dark Toffee Bundt. It was really good, but I also knew it wouldn’t be that hard to make at home, plus it would give me a chance to use another Nordic Ware pan from my collection. The copycat recipe turned out so good!

Also, while I was decorating, I came across an old oil lamp base in my storage room and decided I wanted to use it for Christmas decor. I whipped up this Quick Oil Lamp Christmas Upcycle in a matter of minutes. I’m so happy with how it turned out.

The Weekly Features!

Even though I’ve been in the Christmas spirit, I’m still happily planning for Thanksgiving, since we are hosting here again this year after a couple of years of having it at my daughter’s house. I’ve loved all the Thanksgiving inspiration you’ve been sharing…

  1. Your post had me giggling, Niky! Our kids and grandkids were in town this weekend so we did our best to do a quick photoshoot for Christmas card season and our camera roll showed similar results! Life with Littles! Wishing you a great week ahead!

  2. Hi Niky,
What a wonderful surprise and thank you so much for featuring my Old Fashioned Apple Salad. I love coming to your place on Sunday’s and it is always a great party. I can’t believe how big your grandbabies are getting, they grow up so fast. Thanks so much for the parties and have a great week!

  5. Ahhh, yes trying to get the moment in a photo. You all still did a great job, because no one appeared to be so upset that tears began to fall! Thanks for hosting, Melynda @scratchmadefood!

  6. Although I don’t post very often, I just want you to know that your site is my very, very, favorite. I have to great grandbabies about the same age as your grands. Our boy is the oldest of the two. Makes my life so blest. Keep up all the posts. Thank you for sharing.

    1. Awww, thanks so much for taking the time to write these kind words, Jan. It’s so nice to know that people enjoy reading my posts. And I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment about the grandbabies (and GREAT grandbabies in your case)! What a joy they bring to our lives. ❤️
      Happy Sunday!
