Sundays on Silverado #222

Stockings 2024

Life Lately

Have you started decorating for Christmas yet? Ours is going up earlier than usual because we have such a busy November and December that we had to start putting it up now, or we just wouldn’t get done.

I can’t say that I’m sad about it though. I love the cozy vibes the Christmas lights bring to the house, plus I’m loving Christmas even more these days with so many littles to enjoy the holidays with.

We aren’t done decorating but I did the mantel mostly finished. I love, love, love these stockings from Pottery Barn Kids. I got Evie’s two years and added two more recently for Hayden and Claire who will both be celebrating their first Christmas this year.

Aren’t they adorable? There are so many different stockings to choose from, and you can choose to personalize them if you want.

I plan to add pics of the kids in their Christmas pajamas to the photo frames above each stocking.

I’m about 75% done decorating for Christmas. After Thanksgiving, I will do more in the dining area, but for now I’m getting ready to set up my Thanksgiving tablescape. Talk about a holiday mashup, huh?

How do you handle your holiday decor? Are you an early or late decorator?

In Case You Missed It…

I shared my Prime Purchases for November last week. There are some really great ideas for gifts and stocking stuffers if you’re trying to get organized.

Holiday Inspiration

I’m doing something with copper in my tablescape again this year. I just love the warm and festive glow it adds to the table.

This Baked Cranberry Chicken is one of my go-to recipes for this time of year. It’s a one-pan, 30-minute meal, so you can get a warm and cozy dinner on the table even during the busy holiday season.

The Weekly Features!

With Thanksgiving only a couple of weeks away, I’m featuring some great side dish ideas that were linked up this week. I’ve also shared a few of my own favorites in the link party below. I’d love for you to share some more Thanksgiving food ideas this week– I’m busy working on my menu!

  1. The stockings are adorable, Niky. I’m reluctantly having to start Christmas decorating early this year. With a late Thanksgiving we don’t have enough time to enjoy actual Christmas. Thanks for having us over. Have a great week!

  2. Thank you for the great recipe for Cranberry Chicken – this will be wonderful for easy entertaining this season. I love your decorations…and it will be so special with your little cuties! I am doing Basic Christmas this year as we are leaving for a cruise on the 20th of December…but I still want some Christmas to enjoy during December. I see you are making your TV into art….I love doing that, too. Thanks again and have a great week.

  3. Thanks so much for featuring my Stovetop Brussels Sprouts with Garlic and Parmesan, I appreciate it! Have a great week ahead, it sounds like you will be busy! And as always thanks for hosting.

  4. We host Thanksgiving so I haven’t started decorating for Christmas yet… Thanks for hosting and enjoy your week!

  5. Thanks for hosting us all each week, Niky! Your blog is a favorite of ours! I was off visiting my grandbabies last weekend and didn’t get to comment on your Littles’ Halloween costumes – so darling! They made the perfect TnT! Thanks also for the stocking recommendations! I’ve been wondering what to do as our family grows and I’ve seen these before but I haven’t acted yet… until now! Have a great week.
