Sundays on Silverado #215

Evie and Hayden cowboy hats

Life Lately

Evelynn has a “dress like a cowboy/cowgirl/farmer” day coming up at her new preschool. As soon as I saw it in her preschool newsletter, I knew I had the perfect accessory!

Nearly 30 years ago, my grandfather got these two cute little cowboy hats for my children when they were small. I’ve kept them stored away all these years, and can’t wait to let Evie wear one to school.

Here is the pic of my kids wearing them something like 27 years-ish ago.

We tried to recreate the pic with Evie and Hayden. Easier said than done, right?

Here’s the best we got of them wearing the hats from their great, great grandfather.

I ordered her a little pair of cowboy boots too, so I’ll be sure to share pics with you of the full costume on “cowgirl day”. :-)

In Case You Missed It…

I’m feeling all the fall feels this week, how about you? We’ve had some hot weather, but now it’s starting to cool down and feel a bit more like fall. It’s got me pulling out some of my favorite fall recipes.

What have you been baking?

And, if you’re looking for even more pumpkin recipes, be sure to come back on Tuesday for this month’s Pinterest Challenge, where multiple bloggers are sharing our favorite pumpkin recipes.

I will be sharing this amazing Pumpkin Zucchini Bread!

  1. Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for the feature! Life got the best of me last week and I didn’t get a chance to say, “thanks!” It means so much!

  2. That photo recreation is so special! What a lovely way to share and honor your grandfather with your own grandchildren! ❤️ Thanks so much for hosting us all each Sunday, Niky! I love all the fall goodies shared in the link ups! Thanks also for highlighting our “Apple Pizzas” post! So appreciated!

  3. Niky, Love the cowboy hats and the pictures of your son and daughter in them, and now Evie and Hayden wearing them – such precious memories. (And I a SO impressed that you could find your old picture to use to inspire the setting for this one) Thanks too for all you do to host the Sundays on Silverado party each week! I really enjoy stopping by. Hope Evie has a wonderful farm day, can’t wait to see pictures – Patty
