Life Lately
Oh boy, have we been busy around here. A good kind of busy though.
Last weekend we celebrated both sons with a little family BBQ graduation celebration. Our youngest graduated from the University of Iowa in May, and our oldest graduated with this second bachelor’s degree last month. Super proud of these boys. 🎓
And just like that, we officially have no kids in school anymore.
Unfortunately, I was too busy enjoying myself to take pics. I did get this one of the delicious meat my husband smoked for the party, though. 😚
We spent a good chunk of the week just getting things done around here. Planting, gardening, home maintenance…
My husband is so good about doing the labor when I get the idea to move my plants around. He says, “You’re the magic and I’m the mule.” 🤣 I usually just point to where I want things, and he does the digging and planting. I water them, though!
This bed on the side of the garage just never does well. My peonies bloom in May for about 5 minutes, but nothing else seems to thrive here. We moved things around and planted a couple of new sun-loving plants to see if they do better. Stay tuned…
My garden tomatoes are still thriving, so I made a batch of pizza sauce this week. We used one jar for a pizza with the leftover meat from the BBQ and some peppers from our garden. So good!
And just to put a smile on your face, I’ll leave you with this picture of Baby Hayden eating his first Texas Roadhouse roll. It looks like he feels exactly the way Gigi does about those rolls…
