A Pandemic Birthday

I had a wonderful birthday, even though it looked a bit different than years past. My people are so good to me. 💕

  • I found this sweetness when I went to the kitchen to get my morning coffee.
  • Hot-from-the-oven cinnamon rolls sent over by the neighbors!
  • Birthday Starbucks!
  • So many flowers and cards!
  • Birthday Cheesecake!
  • More surprises!

In addition to all these pics, I got to have Cheesecake Factory takeout dinner with my husband, son and his girlfriend, I got a beautiful Christmas Amaryllis and card from my mother-in-law, and literally dozens of text messages, phone calls, and Facebook wishes. I’m a lucky girl.

I Finished My Christmas Shopping!

Without ever setting foot in one store, I managed to finish my Christmas shopping fully online. Again, not a typical year, but things in Iowa have been out of control, and there was no way I was spending time in crowds unnecessarily.

I remain very thankful for the delivery people who bring our packages right to our door. This is the third year in a row now that I’ve put out a little basket of treats to thank them.

  16. I adore what you’ve done for your delivery drivers. I’m going to have to have a think about what I can do that’s similar – only trouble, as I type this the rain is beating down here in England and all my gifts and basket would be a soggy mess! Happy belated birthday too, I think we’ve all embraced a new normal this year.
