Life Lately
We got to keep Evelynn for the weekend while her parents were out of town! We had so much fun!
Check out this reel of the fun Fall craft we made. It would be the perfect activity to keep the littles busy over Thanksgiving break or during the family gathering on Thanksgiving Day.
We did a lot of reading while Evie was here. As a reading teacher, I love that she is so interested in books right now. The clear favorite of the weekend was If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. We read it many, many times.

Close runners-up were Inside, Outside, Upside Down, and Good Dog, Carl, which happens to be my personal favorite and one I read to my own kids many times.

(Her clothes are a bit mismatched in these pics because the original pants she had on ended up in the washer. <Toddler life.> These are a pair of pants I had saved that were her mother’s, so she was cozy until her pants finished washing.)
I promised you a picture of Evie enjoying the antique school desk that I shared last week. It was one of her favorite reading spots this weekend. ❤️

My husband worked on Saturday, so Uncle Matthew came over to help us go to the zoo.

The weather was beautiful and it was a fun day for the three of us.

We also spent a lot of time playing. This Fisher Price doll house was Evelynn’s mother’s. It was fun to see Evie enjoying it now, too.

What a lucky Gigi I am. It was such a wonderful weekend with my favorite tiny girl.
In Case You Missed It…
I shared my Prime Purchases for the month. I’ve missed the last two months because life has been out of control lately and some things had to give.
But, I’m so happy to be back this month, and after I created the post, I realized there are a lot of items included that would make great stocking stuffers. Perfect timing! Check them out HERE.

Favorites for the Week
I’m so thrilled with my new King of Christmas Flock Slim tree!
We only have this one tree up, partly because Evie was here last weekend and I wanted to work on it with her. She’s such a busy toddler, and her mom was worried she’d be “hands-on” with the Christmas tree this year! I was happy to report to my daughter that she did just fine. Now we’ll see if that trend holds with her own tree at home.
This beautiful new tree is in our family room, and I’m decorating it with a sort of “Santa’s Workshop” theme.
The little red rocking chair was mine as a child; I got it for my first birthday. It looks so cute as a seat for my vintage Hallmark Santa.
The wooden rocking horse was a gift from my parents for my daughter’s first Christmas in 1995.
All of the vintage red Shiny Bright bulbs were my mom’s.
I have a few more tricks up my sleeve to finish out this theme, but for now, it looks beautiful. The red and silver ribbons and bulbs look so pretty with the gorgeous flocked tree and hundreds of warm white lights!
Plus, I love that the tree has a remote, not only to turn it on and off but also to switch amongst multiple light sequence options.
If you’re in the market for a ARTIFICIAL CHRISTMAS TREES target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener nofollow”>new artificial Christmas tree, this one is a winner. @kingofchristmas

It’s always fun to see what you guys are up to, Niky. I can’t get over the little fox made out of leaves. That is so stinking cute. I’m excited to see that Evie is interested in books at such an early age. It really does make a huge difference. Can’t wait to see more of your tree! Hugs and thanks for hosting, CoCo

She is getting so big! I am so glad she likes her desk. I recall receiving one when I was small, and I still have it to this day! I bet she will also hang on to her desk. <3 Have a great week Niky!
