Sundays on Silverado #159

Retirement Frame

Life Lately

Last Sunday, friends and family gathered here to celebrate the beginning of retirement with me. You can see some of the highlights in the reel below. ❤️ It was so fun.

This past Wednesday was the first day that teachers in my district went back to work after summer break. Not being there for the first time in 30 years was both strange and exciting at the same time.

It will take some time to get used to this new normal, but I am enjoying more time to spend with family.

My daughter and granddaughter came to stay a few days this week to get away from the mess of their home addition. If I was working, obviously it wouldn’t have been possible to spend this extra time with them.

So now I’m off to spend some time with my favorite toddler, instead of working. See you at next week’s party. 😊

  1. Oh! I didn’t miss the party this week! Woot! Thanks for hosting each week, my friend! Congrats on your retirement! What fun to be able to spend MORE time with the family AND blog more, as well!

  2. I am so excited for you Niky! It is interesting, we look forward to retirement, and when it finally comes, sometimes it is not what we think it will be. You will enjoy it since you have Evie to visit with. Mine wasn’t really a retirement per se, but sometimes I find myself not knowing what I will do with my days. I am about to slow down a bit more, and I think I am looking forward to it though so I can have more time to do the things I love to. Congratulations, enjoy your new found downtime.

  3. Congratulations on your retirement! It is hard to retire from a teaching job you love, but you know when it is time. As a retired Middle School Librarian of 35 years I think the best day of retirement is the Sunday night of the first time you don’t have to go back to school. Bliss ! Enjoy – wishing you many wonderful times in your retirement!

  4. Thank you so much for hosting and Happy Sunday to you
