Sundays on Silverado #157

3 girls in Alaska

Life Lately

We spent several days this week helping our youngest daughter move into a new apartment. The packing and moving part is the “un-fun” part, but I enjoy the organizing and decorating part.

Does anyone else walk into a new space and automatically just start imagining how cute it could look with a little styling? 🙋🏼‍♀️ Me too!

Just like my son’s townhome that I helped decorate earlier this year, she has some good basic pieces like a nice sofa and a desk that can be used as an entryway table now. A few simple additions will help cozy it up.

I have a lot of beautiful rugs around my house thanks to Boutique Rugs, so we took one over for her living room. Then I set to work shopping for some of the things her new place still needed to make it comfortable and pretty– an end table, a lamp, and a mirror to start with.

Happily, I found both a gorgeous mirror to hang over her entry table, and a side table that I’m going to paint using Dixie Belle’s new Cottage Collection. I have some lamps in my stash that I’ll fix up also.

end table before

Here is the “before” pic of the end table. It’s dated-looking in this oak color, but it has a pretty design on the top, and it’s made of solid wood. It will be perfect for her apartment once I’m done. Stay tuned!

King of Christmas delivery

I’m excited to be working with King of Christmas again this year!

You might recall the gorgeous mini trees, garland, and wreath that I used to decorate my screen porch for the holidays.

This year, I selected a beautiful slim flocked tree for our family room. It’s never too early to start planning ahead for your holiday decor, so you’ll have plenty of time for your goodies to arrive!

Favorites for the Week

Babs & Birdie was kind enough to send bags for each of the grown-up girls to use on our Alaskan adventure. These Atlas crossbody bags are not only adorable but were perfect for a no-hands way of carrying our essentials as we traveled and explored.

Plus, they come in several colors and have dozens of different straps to select!

knot pillow

Bright Hope sent me this set of super-cute knot pillows to try.

They add some fun texture and interest on my chair and sofa, plus they’re perfect for putting behind your back for some lumbar support, under your knees, or to rest your arm on. Practical and pretty– a great combo! You can order your own HERE.

Naked Sleep

Naked Nutrition sent me their new product called Naked Sleep.

My husband and I have been giving it a try for the past couple of weeks, and I’m sold! I don’t like to take other kinds of sleep meds because they leave me feeling sluggish and tired the next day, but the natural ingredients in Naked Sleep just help me relax and have a more restful night of sleep. You can check it out HERE.

  1. Thank you for hosting Niky. Looks like you will be having a lot of fun decorating your daughter’s apartment. I love when you enter a new space like you said and get a clear vision of how you can see it in your mind. Funny, I had that happen with every house we looked at, except the one we purchased!
