Who loves summer sunsets?
Our deck and screen porch face west. Fortunately, they are covered, so they avoid the hot afternoon sun until at least 4:30 or 5:00. The payoff though is that we are treated to gorgeous sunsets almost every evening.
And luckily, we have plenty of evening shade on the front porch swing and rockers.
Those sunsets make it worth it though… There’s just something special about sunsets, don’t you think?
Life Lately
Traditionally, Friday night has always been pizza night around our house. Sometimes we get takeout, and sometimes we make our own.
Recently, Cindy over at Cloches & Lavender shared a recipe for this incredible Fig Jam & Sausage Pizza.

As soon as I saw it, I knew it would make a great addition to our Friday night tradition, and it did not disappoint!
My husband and I took one bite and agreed that this recipe was a keeper! It’s a nice change of pace from typical tomato-based pizzas, and the combo of fig jam and sausage creates the perfect sweet & salty flavor.
I used pizza dough from Trader Joe’s, as well as a jar of their “Fig Butter”, some mild Italian Sausage (although next time we might try spicy), and grated a small block of Gouda.
It was so delish, we made it again a couple of days later.
Thanks for sharing the recipe, Cindy!
Favorites for the Week…
Naked Nutrition recently sent me a bottle of their Naked Sleep sleep aid supplement. Since my husband and I are both members of the “restless sleep club” these days, we were both anxious to try it!
And of course, I appreciate the paired-down, natural ingredients. I’ll be sure to give you an update after we have tried for several nights or so.
