Sundays on Silverado #137

The Crowned Goat

Life Lately

I got to spend time with my favorite baby this week.

I volunteered to put her down for her nap.

It was kind of like the old-fashioned photo booth from the carnival for a while, but I did eventually succeed in getting her to sleep.

Later we went out for dinner. Evie wasn’t much interested in her food. Somehow one of the tossed noodles ended up on the coat of the nice lady at the next table. Fortunately, the lady wasn’t mad about it.

The restaurant had a fish tank that was very interesting.

Evie and the fish

Evie’s mom sent me this pic of therapy from about a year ago, and therapy now. This little miracle baby is making so much progress.

Saying “hi” to anyone and everyone… making messes….

All the things a toddler should be doing. Miracles are real.

Favorites for the Week

We went to my mother-in-law’s for dinner. She (along with some help from our daughter) made us a Slovak dinner: haluski, pierogies, kielbasa, and kolaches.

It was such a fun way to spend the evening!

This gorgeous cardinal has been a regular at our bird feeder. And by regular, I mean he spends almost all day there until the bird feeder is empty! He’s gotten less afraid of us and lets us stand right next to the window to watch. Occasionally the female joins him.

We are calling him our “roommate” now.

My husband got me THIS book for Christmas, and it’s been so fun to identify all of the other types of birds that have visited our feeder this winter.

In Case You Missed It…

I made this cake for St. Patrick’s Day. We had dinner with the family and the cake was a hit. It’s easy to make because it starts with a cake mix and a box of chocolate pudding. It’s rich, chocolatey, and just the tiniest bit boozy.

  1. Evie has so much spunk and personality and I adore her for it! I love to see all the progress she’s been making week by week but when you look back at all she’s accomplished this year – it really hits home what a true miracle she is. Thank you so much for including our spring porch tour with your features this week. It’s so sweet of you! Hope your week is filled with all good things, CoCo

    1. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous spring porch, CoCo, but especially thank you for sharing in our awe and joy at Evie’s amazing accomplishments. She is a tiny fighter and continues to achieve the things the doctors said she would not. When she was only a few days old, the doctors said, “IF she ever leaves the hospital, she will never walk, never talk, never eat or breath on her own, and never interact with people.” That part crushed my soul, but each day this tiny miracle accomplished one milestone after another. Hearing her laugh, and seeing that heart-warming smile of hers proves that she most definitely can “interact with people”! And you are right, she definitely has “spunk and personality”! There is no medical explanation for it. She is the epitome of a miracle and I relish sharing that with all who will listen. 💕 Happy Day, CoCo.

  2. I am so thrilled for all of you that your little miracle is doing so well! She definitely is a little miracle bringing so much joy to all of you! Smiles, Linda at Paper Seedlings
