Sundays on Silverado #127

Life Lately

This week sent me back to work again, after a wonderful 2 weeks off filled with family time.

My mama/Gigi heart was so happy to get to have all of my people around 2 weekends in a row— Christmas weekend, and again on New Year’s weekend. What a gift.

New Year’s Eve was so fun eating appetizers and snacks, playing games, and just enjoying the time together. We combined NYE with a little celebration for my son who just finished up some additional schooling and will begin a new job in a few days.

Apparently, I was enjoying myself so much that I took very few pictures. This one of our sweet baby eating breakfast on New Year’s Day is precious though, don’t you think?

What a Year

Friday, January 6 is always an emotional day for me. This year marked the 5-year anniversary of my mom’s passing.

But, it’s also a day for some celebration now, too. January 6th also marked the one-year anniversary of our miracle girl coming home from the hospital.

2023

One year ago, she came home from the hospital with a feeding tube, and concerns that she may never be able to eat on her own. Now, she eats like any other 1-year-old.

She’s a tough little fighter and has been from day one. She still goes to therapy several times a week- physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy–but this kid keeps proving people wrong over and over.

Not a day goes by that I don’t thank God for the miracle of this baby and the joy she’s brought to all of us. 🙏🏻 ❤️

In Case You Missed It…

My son and his girlfriend recently moved into a beautiful new 3-story townhome. Like many young couples just starting out, their living room had only the necessities— a comfy leather reclining sofa, and a giant TV. 😜

With help from Boutique Rugs, we had fun giving it a little makeover. You can check out the whole post HERE and see all the pretty pictures of the finished project.

Plus, they also send along this stunning Ulubey Area Rug that I put in my own living room. Check out the reel below to see the full room tour.

Boutique Rugs is having a HUGE sale right now, with deep discounts and free shipping. Plus, enter my special code at checkout to save even more: THEHOUSEONSILVERADO

I also got all my Christmas decor packed away this week. The house always feels a bit stark afterward, so I created a few displays using my favorite twinkling fairy lights to help us make the transition. You can see them HERE in this reel:

The Weekly Features!

I enjoyed looking at all of the after-holiday projects you have all been up to. I’m ready for spring, how about you?

Bring on all the spring decor, Valentine’s and Easter, because it means warmer weather is on its way. After the “bomb cyclone” from a couple of weeks ago, I am ready for winter to go away. ❄️

  1. Thanks so much for sharing my home organization ideas, Niky, I really appreciate it. It’s crazy to see how much Evie has grown and changed over the year. Thank you for allowing us to be part of her journey. You might not have heard it but each week were celebrating her progress in Florida. She is truly a miracle! Big hugs and thank yous, CoCo

    1. Thank you for your sweet words, Coco. It means more than you know. So many people prayed for her and sent such kind words of support to lift us up when things were really hard and scary. She is a true miracle, and I love to share that with all of you. ❤️
