Sundays on Silverado #116

Life Lately

I promised you pictures from the pumpkin patch, so I’m here to deliver. 🎃

We had such a good day that we’ve all agreed to do it again next year! Unfortunately, my husband had the weekend shift at the hospital, so he couldn’t come, but next year we’ll make it an even bigger family affair.

It was an afternoon filled with good old-fashioned family fun. Pumpkins, goat-petting, hayrides, horses, apple cider.. even a bathtub train!

Isn’t her little Pumpkin Pie outfit with flare pants adorable? You can find it HERE.

The next morning, I made the crew blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Here’s our sweet Evie enjoying her pancakes in the Victorian-era high chair I repaired and refinished for her.

Her buffalo plaid pajamas are HERE, and her pink silicone bib with a pocket to help catch the mess is HERE.

What is it about a baby in the family that makes everything so much fun again?

In Case You Missed It…

Easy Italian Ricotta Cake with Chocolate Chips is new on the blog this week.

This is the kind of recipe that’s great to have on hand, especially as we approach the holiday and entertaining season. It’s nearly as easy to put together as a cake mix, and 10x as good!

The ricotta gives it such a great texture.

It turned cooooold in Iowa this week. And by cold, I meant COLD. Like record-level cold down to the 20s.

I was seriously not prepared for that, but at least it gave me a good reason to break out one of my favorite soup recipes!

If you love Panera’s Creamy Tomato Soup, you should give this easy recipe a try. It’s so much better than canned soup but super simple to make at the same time.

  1. I seriously can’t take the cuteness – Evie is the most adorable pumpkin ever! Thanks so much for hosting and for giving us updates on how she’s doing. She’s a miracle. Hugs, CoCo
