We are still trying to get life back under control after being gone on vacation. You know how that goes…

I hope to do a full post about our wonderful anniversary trip to New England, but I wanted to give you just a little sneak peek today.

In Case You Missed It…

I shared October’s Prime Purchases post this week. Be sure to take a look and hop over the link party at Tanya’s too. It’s time to start thinking about gift ideas if you like to get an early start!

Also, be sure to check out my newest Dixie Belle Paint Project, and see how I gave a makeover to this little table I’ve had for almost 30 years.

The Weekly Features!

The fall and Halloween decor showed up in full force these past two link parties, and I enjoyed browsing through them all. So many clever ideas!

From SoS #112:

  • You guys know how much we love a good charcuterie around here, and this one from Pandora’s Box is perfect for the season!
  • I love Pottery Barn, so these DIY copycat pumpkins from Arts and Classy caught my attention. So cute!
  • I love DIY wreaths, and this witch hat wreath from Life as a Leo Wife is so unique!

  1. So much fun to get a behind the scenes look at your vacation, Niky! They’re all beautiful and I’m so excited you guys had the chance to get away and unwind. Thanks so much for hosting. Hugs, CoCo

  2. We love Newport, RI, it is our favorite vacation spot. We enjoyed Maine as well, so peaceful, Boston was a bit too busy for me. I love a good low key vacation where I can just take in the scenery.

  3. Wow, looks like a wonderful trip and I’m thrilled to see part of it was spent here in Canada! Obviously, before Hurricane Ian ripped through that region. It’s nice to be partying with you again Niky. I took a blogging break and then ended up getting covid, so it’s been a while. Looking forward to seeing more of your vacay photos!

    1. Hi Marie,
We LOVED Canada, and actually, we were there just the week AFTER Ian. For a while we weren’t sure if we’d still be able to go, but where we were in Halifax, Minister Island, and St. John didn’t seem to have much damage that we could see, anyway. I read extensively about the devastation in other areas though. 🙁

  4. Niky, these photos are beautiful! I love New England especially in the fall. Bar Harbor is such a gorgeous place! My husband and I went camping in Bar Harbor for our first vacation together 14 years ago. I would love to get back there again!

  5. Looks like a wonderful trip, Niky!! Thanks for hosting and thank you so very much for featuring my fall tin door decor!! Such a treat!!! Hope you have a blessed Lord’s day!!

  6. Niky, getting in the groove after a vacation is tough! Or after other types of disruptions to normal life! My link explains my absence from the blogosphere. Thank you for hosting. Looking forward to seeing more about your trip. Happy anniversary!

  7. Wow – what amazing places you visited! I may have crossed your path in Newport, Rhode Island. I was there on September 24th! Such a beautiful place! Thanks for hosting and thanks so much for including me in your features this week!

  8. Thank you for hosting Niky and sharing your recent trip pictures. I am from Massachusetts, and was always in Newport RI, Boston and Maine. So many great memories and the pictures put a smile on my face. Have a good weekend.
