It’s that time of year when we’re busy trying to keep up with the garden, and squeeze in a few more fun and/or relaxing adventures before reality kicks in very soon, and it’s time to go back to school.
I managed to get several more jars of pickles made with my abundance of cucumbers, I’ve been baking zucchini bread like mad, enjoying some now, and putting some in the freezer, and now the tomatoes are starting to come in full force….
All that work in the garden and kitchen earned me a couple of lazy morning breakfasts out and about, and some charcuterie and wine on the patio… 🍷
This summer has gone by just too fast, don’t you think?
My favorite baby turned 8 months old this week! You guys, just look at how much she’s changed since she came home from the NICU at 6 weeks old.
Just 4 months ago she was still propped in the corner of the chair, and now not only is she sitting on her own, but she’s also grabbing those blocks to investigate! Go, baby, go… ❤️
In Case You Missed It…
I love this time of year when there is so much fresh produce to cook with!
This week I made this delicious Lemon Zucchini Bread. If you love Starbucks Lemon Loaf, this recipe is for you! It tastes just like Starbucks version, only with the added nutrients of the zucchini. It’s so good.
Plus, I made a batch of these healthy Peach Almond Breakfast Cookies to keep in my freezer, since back-to-school is only a couple of weeks away for me. They make a perfect grab ‘n’ go, breakfast or snack.
These cookies were part of the Pinterest Challenge for the month, so you’ll find 16 more fresh peach recipes linked up there!

Sadly summer is flying by too quickly. It was a long weekend here in Canada and I didn’t turn my computer on once so I’m very late to the party. I hope the first week of August has been a good one so far.
I’m glad you were able to unplug for the long weekend, Marie! We all need that sometimes. 🙂
Summer is flying by! I can’t believe we are almost at the end already. I do love seeing your sweet grand baby’s progress. Go, baby, go, indeed!

I agree summer has gone by way to fast! We ate the last of our vegetable garden this week. My kids are going back to school in two weeks, which is nuts. Anyways thanks for hosting a great link party.
Yes, I go back to school in two weeks, too. It’s hard to believe!
