Easy DIY Spring Tulip Wreath Ideas

A colorful wreath filled with bunches of faux tulips is the perfect way to welcome spring to your front door.  

It’s time again for another fun Pinterest Challenge, hosted by Cindy from County Road 407! This month’s challenge is all about creating a beautiful summer table with a glass bottle centerpiece.

Easy DIY Spring Tulip Wreath Ideas

Our inspiration photo this month comes from Kristi at Chatfield Court. Pink is my favorite color, and tulips are one of my favorite flowers. Combine the two, and you end up with this gorgeous tulip wreath to inspire us!

My DIY Tulip Wreath

Kristi’s gorgeous wreath is loaded with light and dark pink tulips, but since I didn’t have enough tulips to cover my entire wreath I decided to place them on just one side of the wreath.

New Grapevine Wreath

I started with a $5 grapevine wreath from Hobby Lobby.  Usually, I prefer to buy thrifted wreaths and remove the flowers and ribbons so I can repurpose the wreath form, but Goodwill prices have gotten out of hand. Anyone else think so too?  

A used wreath was quite a bit more than just buying one at Hobby Lobby, so I went that route.

I chose a grapevine wreath, but this would be super cute on a straw wreath form, too.

Faux Flowers

I gathered up some faux tulip bunches that I already had.  I own these colorful tulips in several shades, but for this beautiful spring tulip wreath, I decided to use these champagne-colored flowers to coordinate with the centerpiece I chose for my happy wreath.

First, I used two separate bunches of tulips and arranged them with half flowing up the wreath and the other in the opposite direction.  

I also tucked in a small bouquet of little white flowers for an extra touch of spring.  I attached all of the flowers to the grapevine wreath form with floral wire.

Tip: This little bundle on Amazon is less than ten bucks and includes all of the things you need for wreath making including floral wire, wire cutters, wire stems, and floral tape.

You can use any color tulips or other artificial flowers you prefer.  There are so many possibilities! Don’t be afraid to completely customize your wreath to suit your own style.

Embellishment

For the centerpiece of my wreath, I used this wooden, vintage-looking bicycle carrying baskets of flowers.   Isn’t it adorable?  After being stuck at home during surgery recovery for several weeks, I’m so looking forward to getting back on my bike again, so this seemed like the perfect little trinket to add to my own tulip wreath.

This bicycle came from Hobby Lobby, but also check out Dollar Tree or your local craft store to see what cute spring or Easter embellishments you can find for your wreath.

I used more floral wire to attach the bike in the center where the tulip stems overlapped.  

Bow

I chose this springy green ribbon for my bow because it coordinated nicely with my bicycle embellishment.  I paired it with a burlap ribbon and created a double bow using my Extra Large Bow Maker.

Wide ribbon like this with a wired outer edge makes the prettiest full bows, I think.

Front Door Decor

This tulip wreath DIY was a great way to add some quick & easy seasonal flair to my front door.  

We’ve had a few really nice days around here lately, which provided the perfect opportunity to freshen up the whole front porch.

We gave everything a good clean to wash away the dust and pine needles still remaining from winter.  I layered a new rug underneath my doormat along with a pot of spring greenery.  

For Easter, I may layer in a few more seasonal items, but for now, this simple arrangement featuring my pretty tulip wreath is the perfect way to welcome spring.
