A delivery driver snack basket idea and a free printable thank you sign!
Every year during the holiday season, I place a basket of snacks and treats by the front door as a way of showing appreciation for the hard work of our delivery people.
I do a lot of online shopping, even when it’s not the holiday shopping season. I’m pretty sure the Amazon delivery driver visits my front porch at least once a week.
During the Christmas season, when you factor in not only Amazon but also the UPS driver, the FedEx driver, the mail carrier…. that’s a lot of packages.
That’s why creating a delivery driver snack basket is a great idea.
I try to have mine out no later than Black Friday, because that’s usually when the influx of extra Christmas packages begin arriving, and the delivery workers get hit with even more long days.
One thing I love about this project is that it doesn’t have to be complicated.
Just find any type of basket or container that will hold the snacks.
This year, I’m using a tin basket that came with a Christmas plant from last season.
Last year I used a little sleigh basket and the first year, just a galvanized tin bucket that I got at Hobby Lobby.
Really, just look around your house to see what you already have.
Delivery Driver Snacks
There are so many snack ideas for your treat basket.
- granola bars
- protein bars
- leftover Halloween candy
- peppermints, cinnamon disks, or other types of hard candy
- packs of gum
- small water bottles, cans of soda, bottled coffee drinks, or other cold drinks (if you don’t live in a climate like mine where they would freeze!)
- individually wrapped packages of cookies, pretzels, mixed nuts, chips
Costco and Dollar Tree are both good places to look for the best snacks that are individually wrapped.
Delivery Driver Signs
The last thing you need for your basket of goodies is a sign that lets your hard-working delivery drivers know that the snacks are available for them to take.
–> Tip: I wrapped a strand of my favorite fairy lights around my snack basket to make it easier for delivery drivers to see if they’re dropping off all those packages after dark.
I’ve linked this FREE PRINTABLE SIGN I made for your personal use. It’s a digital file that you can easily download and print on regular printer paper or card stock.
You can place it in an 8×10 frame and set it near your snack station as I did, or if you have a laminating machine at home, you can protect it from the weather and wind that way. If you laminate it, just tape it to the delivery driver snack box and you’re done!
More Delivery Driver Appreciation Signs
If you’re interested in more options for your treat box, you can find these digital downloads in my Esty Shop.
And really, if you want to keep it super simple, an easy way to make your sign is just be writing a personal note. “Dear Delivery Drivers…”
We all need more fun things in our lives, don’t you think? These porch snack baskets are a great way to spread a little holiday cheer.
I hope this small act of kindness reflects at least a tiny bit of my appreciation for the long days these drivers work, especially at this time of year.
