Delicious Infused Water Combinations

Cucumber Infused Water

Delicious infused water combinations make great healthy drink options to help you get enough water throughout the day and avoid sugary drinks.

Drinking plenty of water has many health benefits, but sometimes I get tired of plain old water.

I’ve found that creating refreshing drinks using different combinations of fresh fruit, herbs, and water enhancers is the best way to increase my water intake.

I like to make my own infused water combinations, but when I’m on the go, sometimes I need something simple and easy.

Nakedade

Nakedade by Naked Nutrition is my go-to water enhancer. It’s perfect for when we are riding our bikes.

Nakedade

We just fill our insulated bike water bottles with ice cubes, cold water, and a packet of Nakedade Strawberry Lemonade.   It’s one of the best ways to stay hydrated on a hot summer day.

The little individual packets are perfect for tucking inside my bike bag.

Then, if we’re on a long ride and going through a lot of water, it’s easy to refill our bottles with plain water from a drinking fountain or bike station along the trail and add in another packet of Nakedade.

I like Nakeade so much better than some of the other liquid hydration packets on the market.  Not only does it come in three great fruity flavors, but it also provides a steady supply of energy to increase exercise endurance, help you stay hydrated, and replenish electrolytes lost through sweat.

Plus, just like all of Naked Nutrition’s products, it’s made from natural premium ingredients and:

Homemade Infused Water Ideas

When we are at home, my “mixologist” husband often whips us up a pitcher of infused water using whatever seasonal fruit we have on hand.

There are so many health benefits of infused water, and it’s a delicious way to add subtle flavors without any added sugar.

A fruit infusion pitcher or infuser water bottle is a handy way to keep flavored water easily available, but any pitcher or even a glass jar will work.

(The flavored water recipes below can be made with or without the addition of Nakeade.)

Strawberry Lemonade

Strawberries and lemon are just a great combo.  A squeeze of lemon juice is an easy way to add a flavor boost to fresh water.

Add a fresh strawberry as a garnish on the rim of the glass or for stronger flavor, muddle some strawberries in the bottom.  Fill your glass with plenty of ice and cold water.

I like to add a packet of Nakedade Strawberry Lemonade to mine to help keep my energy levels up on a busy day, but this is totally optional.

Strawberry Basil

Basil is a great addition to strawberry water.  My self-watering herb garden is producing more basil than I know what to do with right now, so adding it to water (and cocktails) is a great way to use it.

Just muddle a few basil leaves and a couple of strawberries in the bottom of your glass, then fill it with plenty of ice, and some water.

Cucumber Water

Cucumber is another great option for flavoring your water.  Sure, you could just slice the cuke in circles, but using a vegetable peeler to create long, thin slices creates such a pretty effect in your glasses of water.

Tip:  When peeling a cucumber this way, be sure to discard the first strip which is mostly the green skin, as it can have a bitter flavor.  A little bright green skin on the edges of your strips is fine and adds some pretty color.

  • lime slices and fresh mint will create a Mojito-inspired infused water
  • watermelon and a couple of Jalapeno pepper slices are a great combo
  • citrus fruits and citrus rinds not only add great flavor but extra vitamin C
  • fresh ginger will add a little zing to your water and it also contains anti-inflammatory properties that can boost your immune system

  1. Thanks for sharing Niky, I need the gluten free, without artificial sweeteners, they give me migraines. I only drink water, and there are times when I want something with a bit of flavor, this would do the trick! Sounds yummy.
