Step-by-Step Guide for Creating an Easy & Festive Wreath Package
Sometimes, wrapping a pile of presents can be a tedious chore during the holiday season. However, if you make a few unique packages, the wrapping can become a creative outlet. Some of these inspiring ideas shared with you today result in packages that are truly works of art.
Supplies:
- wrapping paper of your choice
- matching ribbon
- a small faux wreath (I got mine at Hobby Lobby, but these are similar)
- a pretty gift tag
- tape & scissors

Step 1:
Wrap your package.
You can use traditional wrapping paper or tissue paper. But also, don’t be afraid to think outside the box for your wrapped gifts.
- a brown paper bag, craft paper, or butcher paper makes great wrapping paper; let the kids use ink stamps or draw playful designs on plain paper for a personal touch that is certain to melt the heart of the recipient
- make copies of pictures that capture special memories and glue or decoupage them to plain wrapping paper
- wrap your package in a pretty fabric scrap
- add a touch of elegance by wrapping the gift in vintage sheet music, especially if the recipient is a music-lover!
- if the recipient is a traveler, using old maps is a clever way to create a beautifully wrapped gift

Step 2:
Loop one end of the ribbon through the wreath.

Step 3:
Pull both ends around to the back of the package, fastening one end securely on the back with a piece of tape. Extend the ribbon along the back of the package and up the other end. Loop the second end around the opposite side of the wreath.

Step 4:
Pull the ribbon snuggly around to the back of the package.

Step 5:
Cut the end of the ribbon from the roll, leaving a tail that is long enough to tuck under and tape.

Step 6:
Choose a pretty, decorative name tag with the recipient’s name on the back. Attach it to the middle of the wreath. This step is optional. The package looks pretty without a tag as well.

That’s it! This is so simple to make, yet your package looks stunning and extra special!

More Fun Ways to Jazz Up Your Packages
- attach a candy cane, a Christmas ornament, or other decorative element to the middle of the wreath
- use a bundle of faux flowers instead of a wreath
- print a photo gift tag; use a funny photo to add humor or choose a photo that captures a special occasion
- attaching a handwritten note is the perfect way to let the recipient know how much you care
Pro tip: Go the extra mile by using double-sided tape to wrap your packages so the tape doesn’t show.

Not only will the recipient of this package be thrilled to receive such a gorgeously wrapped gift, but it will also look like a work of art underneath your Christmas tree while it’s waiting to be opened.

This is such a great idea.
So clever how the ribbon holds the wreath in place, and it makes such a beautiful presentation! Two gifts in one! Thanks for the tutorial too. Pinning of course!
Thank you, Michelle!
This was really helpful. I always have so much trouble getting all the corners and ends done without a huge mess. Love your gorgeous finished gift. That would be a treat to receive.
