A beautiful Thanksgiving table is still possible even if you use disposable tableware to simplify your Thanksgiving table decorations.
I love coming up with beautiful tablescapes for special occasions and holidays.

We are hosting the family Thanksgiving meal for about a dozen people, but this year,I knew I’d have to come up with an easy Thanksgiving table setting because my husband has to work at the hospital until 4:00 pm.
To help make things a bit easier, I decided it would be a great idea to use disposable tableware. That way, we can be ready to eat as soon as he gets home, and when dinner is over, we only have the serving dishes to wash. Almost everything else can get tossed in the trash. Then, we can enjoy spending more time with the family instead of being stuck in the kitchen cleaning up.
Creative Thanksgiving Table Decor Ideas
Even though I’m using disposable plates, cutlery, cups, and napkins, I still want a beautiful dining room table with traditional Thanksgiving colors.
Happily, I spotted these metallic paper trays and bowls at Hobby Lobby. The rich colors of the copper create the perfect color palette for Thanksgiving dinner.

Easy Fall Table Runner
I also picked up a very inexpensive fall table runner that worked perfectly in the center of my long farmhouse-style dining table.

It’s almost hard to believe that all of the place settings are entirely disposable, isn’t it? It looks like a traditional table setting.
Little Evie has a spot at the big table this year. Can you spy her booster seat peeking out? We will pull the high chair up to the corner of the table for baby Hayden to join us, too.
Simple Centerpiece
For an easy Thanksgiving centerpiece, I used a copper-colored turkey, which was a clearance purchase at Hobby Lobby a few years ago. I set it on a wreath of natural elements for some extra texture.

For extra decorative accents along the beautiful table runner, I added these mini pumpkins that I upcycled a few years back with some copper paint. They worked perfectly with my color scheme.

A set of tiny turkey salt & pepper shakers that were my mom’s add a special touch to the center of the table.

Dining by Candlelight
Intimate lighting is a simple way to create an inviting atmosphere at a holiday table. I scattered some vintage brass candlesticks along the table runner and filled them with flameless taper candles. I love these candles because I don’t have to worry about wax dripping on the tablecloth or the grandbabies getting their hands in the flames.

The brass of the candlesticks helped create a cohesive look with a blend of warm fall colors.

Fun DIY Place Cards
As a finishing touch, I added simple place cards to each place setting. The ones I’m using are a quick digital download from my Etsy shop and are a great way to add an element of fun to your family gathering.

Each guest must decode their name using the “What is Your Turkey Name” poster and then find their spot at the table. The entire table is sure to laugh as they share their silly turkey names.
Now that my table my beautiful Thanksgiving table is set, disposable tableware and all, it’s time to move on to the shopping and preparing to cook some delicious food.
Happy Thanksgiving,
