How to create a beautiful beachy summer vibe for your entryway table, plus add useful space to make it functional!
It’s time again for another fun Pinterest Challenge, hosted by Cindy from County Road 407! This month’s challenge is all about creating a beautiful summer entryway tablescape display, while also carving out some useful space to make your entryway functional.

Pinterest Challenge Inspiration
Our inspiration photo this month comes from Dana at Adored Home. Her summer entryway is filled with beautiful blues, vintage items, and summer vibes. I love it!
My Beachy Summer Entryway Table
Here are the elements I’m using from Dana’s summer foyer in my own entryway:
- soft blues color scheme
- nautical photo
- wall mirror
- pretty summer florals
- casual beach bag
- vintage chair
Let’s see how I create a similar look in my home…
Coral
This lovely piece of coral was my mother-in-law’s. She always had it displayed beautifully in a glass curio cabinet in her home. It worked perfectly to create a coastal vibe for my project.
I displayed it in an old cloche with some fairy lights strung around it. It gives the entryway a pretty glow when it it comes on in the evening.
Beachy Decor
I repurposed some of my beachy knick-knacks that were mostly from Dollar Tree a few years ago, but I also included a few thrift store finds. I love pulling these simple little pieces out to mix and match in various ways.
My DIY Beach-Themed Centerpiece adds a natural element and some height to the far side of the table.
Vintage Chair, Florals, Beach Bag
This is where Dana really gave me some helpful inspiration! As you may recall, we recently added a puppy to The House on Silverado.
We take her out the front door to walk or go potty. Until now, I’d been keeping a woven basket in this location near the door where I kept the leash, her harness, jacket, and the flashlight. It wasn’t the most attractive solution.
When I saw Dana’s chair with a beachy summer bag, I knew I had found a better way, especially for summer!
I brought up this vintage child’s chippy green chair that used to be my mom’s. I hung a basket on the back filled with some florals, and then added this canvas bag.
It’s a much better solution for holding the dog equipment and it blends right into the decor!
More Tablescape Locations
A sweet summer display like this one can create a coastal space in a variety of locations in your own home. Here are some of my favorite ways:
- create a display in your living room on a coffee table
- use it as a centerpiece on your dining table
- use coastal accessories to add a relaxed vibe in a kitchen & bathroom
- display modern coastal decor on open shelving
- hang coastal art on your walls (or better yet, make your own using ChatGPT! See my tutorial HERE.)
- use throw pillows with a coastal theme to create visual interest–mix crisp whites with deep blues for pops of color
- give your outdoor decor a beach cottage feel using coastal colors for cushions and throws, add a sisal rug to your patio, and an ocean-scented candle for a warm glow
- place some beach house decor on a dresser or TV cabinet in the master bedroom– coastal style is a great way to relax and unwind
Mission accomplished!
Plus, I love the fresh summer vibes that greet people as soon as they enter the door. Nothing says summer like the beach.
