A Mashup of New Year's Eve Ideas

You guys, the new year is just over the horizon, and today I’m sharing a collection of past posts that include some ideas to help as you plan your New Year’s Eve celebrations.

New Year’s Eve Party Ideas

My post on How to Host a Couples Cocktail Contest Party is one of the most popular on my site! If you want to add some friendly competition to dial up your NYE party a bit this year, check out my post and see how we did it.

Charcuterie is perfect for a New Year’s Eve party. Whether you are serving two or twenty, see my post on How to Build a Charcuterie Board to Feed a Crowd to get some ideas.

If you’re hosting a family-friendly New Year’s Eve party, why not set up a cute little Make Your Own Hot Cocoa Bar for the kiddos? Since the adults may be enjoying some beverages of their own, this is a fun way to let the littles at your party celebrate by making their own cocoa creations. And, if you include a few extra adult-only “mix-ins”, the grown-ups may want to experiment here as well. 🤪

A Romantic Evening for Two ❤️

Sure, sometimes it’s fun to go out to celebrate with the crowds, or host a party of your own, but if that’s not the vibe you’re feeling this year, consider a quiet night in for two.

My Valentine’s Dinner at Home post shows you how to create a romantic stay-in dinner for you and your special someone. This would work great for ringing in the new year in the peace and quiet of your own home.

Cocktail Ideas

My son first made me Cucumber Basil Martinis when I visited him last spring, and they quickly became a favorite. My husband and I whipped them up all summer long! They would make a great option for something a bit out of the ordinary on NYE.

Pomegranate-Pear Sangria is great for serving a group. You can spend your time partying with your friends, rather than having to mix individual cocktails. Just make ahead, pour from the pitcher, and you’re ready to toast to 2020. Cheers!

The Shaker & Spoon Cocktail Subscription Box is one of my favorite things! I have gifted it to both my husband and son now. Order your own subscription and you’ll get the supplies to mix amazing cocktails each month, not just on New Year’s Eve! Plus, use my referral code and get $25 off your first box!

Recipes to Make

Sweet & Spicy Nuts and Cinnamon Vanilla Almonds are perfect recipes for NYE snacking. Set out a bowl of each at your party, or for munchies to enjoy cozied up in front of the TV, if you plan to spend your evening waiting for the ball to drop!

Hot & Melty Corn Dip is a crowd-pleasing appetizer. Your friends and family will be singing your praises if you offer them this at your NYE gathering.

Acai Smoothie Bowls are the ideal breakfast to kick off your new year. Easy, healthy, and fun to customize, they’ll give you the energy you need to tackle 2020 right from day one!

I mean, who doesn’t love a Mimosa Bar? I set this one up for my beautiful daughter’s bridal shower, and it was a big hit with the ladies. This would be great for a New Year’s Day brunch.

What are your plans for ringing in 2020? My husband and I had planned to be rocking in the new year with Keith Urban at the Music City Midnight Bash in Nashville, but alas, life has pushed us in another direction and we had to cancel our trip last minute.

I’m hoping we can manage a quiet dinner at home for just the two of us, but not writing it in stone just yet. If 2019 has taught me anything, it’s to prepare for the unexpected.

Drop me a note in the comments and let me know what your plans are. I’d love to hear from you. Really, I would. 🥰
