Sundays on Silverado #66

Happy two-post Sunday!

Today you’re getting a double-dose of The House on Silverado– our weekly Sundays on Silverado and our monthly DIY Blog Hop!

This month’s DIY Blog Hop is all about easy DIYs. I’m sharing how I recovered all 8 of my dining chairs in about an hour and a half, and for around 20 bucks using a painter’s drop cloth!

Plus, you can see simple DIYs from several other bloggers who’ve linked up with some really great ideas.

Life Lately

I don’t know about you, but life lately seems to be moving at a very fast pace.

Between school, the blog, family, and the holiday season really ramping up, organization is the key for keeping it all going.

So recently, when the generous folks at PurpleTrail contacted me to see if I’d like to try out one of their custom planners, I was all about it.

They have so many calendars to choose from. In addition to regular, everyday planners, they also make mom planners, fitness planners, meal planners, teacher planners, and more!

You can choose a ready-made calendar, or you can customize one to your liking. I selected a content calendar meant specifically for bloggers, and then customized it with my blog header and colors.

Look how pretty it turned out!

My planner was gifted to me by PurpleTrail, but all opinions are my own. Please see my disclosure page for more information.

The interior of my content calendar has places for my monthly business goals, places to track my blog traffic and social stats, and plenty of room to plan out my future content.

I added a pocket page and some stickers to mine as well.

You guys, with the holidays coming up, this would make a great gift, especially for the hard-to-buy-for people on your list!

You can check out all the goodies over at PurpleTrail using MY LINK. Right now they are offering 15% off and free shipping over $75.

I’d love to answer any questions you have. Just leave me a comment!

In Case You Missed It…

It’s been a busy week around here… a little baking, a little shopping (baby shower #2, Christmas, birthdays…), a little gardening as we tidy up the yard and garden for winter.

I baked this Pumpkin Spice Coffee Cake as part of a Fall Recipe Challenge on Wednesday, and it picked up lots of traction on my social channels, getting nearly 3k views and 300 shares in only a coupe of days. I guess y’all are in the mood for pumpkin foods, huh? 🤣

I also shared this month’s Prime Purchases. It includes quite a few items that would make some good Christmas gifts. It’s only 48 days until Christmas, ya know.

Featured…

I was featured on FoodTalk and HomeTalk both this week!

How about some Pumpkin Upside-Down Cake with a Bourbon Caramel Glaze for your Thanksgiving feast?

Are you making Christmas crafts yet? If so, I have a good for you: DIY Wood Circle Ornaments made with an $11 wood-burning tool from Amazon! So much fun!

The Weekly Features!

Have you started thinking about your Thanksgiving table yet?

I have because I’m so excited to be able to gather my family around the table again this year after our socially-distanced Thanksgiving last year.

Fortunately, there were lots of beautiful tablescapes linked up at Sundays on Silverado this past week to provide inspiration!

Clockwise from the top left corner: The Crowned Goat, Victorian Lane Farms, Debbie Dabble, My Hubbard Home.

For even more Thanksgiving inspiration, here are two of my own tablescapes from years past. This year, I’m going with a copper theme, and I can’t wait to show you soon!

All features have been pinned to the Sundays on Silverado Pinterest Board!

Time to link up again! I can’t wait to see more of your holiday ideas!

  1. Thanks so much for featuring my Thanksgiving tablescape ideas, Niky! I really appreciate it. LOVE the color you guys chose for the bookcase. Thanks so much for the recommendation on the content planner too. I’m always looking for better ways to stay organized. Hugs and thank yous, CoCo

  2. I really like your chair cover tutorial, Niky, and I’m saving it for the future when I will change my dining room chair covers. Grandchildren can be messy and my chairs are also covered in white fabric. So far stain remover has worked but someday they will need a refresh.

  3. You’ve been busy – your chairs look great Niky! I’ve been wanting to reupholster our living room armchairs in drop cloth fabric but have been procrastinating. Heading over to your post to take a closer peek. Congrats on the features!

  4. thanks so much Niky! Yes, time is definitely flying, I can’t believe we are only weeks away from Thanksgiving! Your pumpkin spice coffee cake does look yummy…

    1. Oh dear, I feel your pain, Regina. I’m struggling with the holiday decor too. I’m hosting Thanksgiving, and I want to get my Christmas decorating started now, but am torn because I don’t really want it up during Thanksgiving. What to do…..?
