Ted Lasso “Biscuits with the Boss”

Ted Lasso won big at the Emmy’s this week! Clearly, I’m not the only one who has fallen in love with this show. If you’ve been watching too, then you know all about Ted Lasso “Biscuits with the Boss”.

And if you haven’t been watching the show, why not? You’re missing out!

Ted Lasso

In the show, Ted Lasso (played by Jason Sudeikis) is a small-time football coach from the United States who gets hired to come to England and coach a professional soccer team– even though he knows nothing about soccer.

As it turns out, it’s actually a trick by team owner, Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) to get back at her ex-husband.

Ted names his morning meetings with his boss “Biscuits with the Boss”.

He shows up each morning with a little pink box of shortbread biscuits he made himself. Rebecca loves the biscuits so much, she thinks they are bakery-made, and sends her assistant out to secretly hunt for the recipe, because they are that good.

Before I tell you how to make these delectable little “biscuits” (otherwise known as shortbread here in the U.S.) let me tell you why you should make them:

  • First, they are melt-in-your-mouth delicious
  • Second, they are so easy to make–just 5 basic ingredients!
  • Third, they are fun, and will impress the Ted Lasso fans in your life, especially if you gift them some in a little pink box (printable template link)

To “Guard and Protect”

But wait, it gets even better! In one episode of this feel-good series, Ted’s young son, still in America, sends him a care package with some little green army men to “keep him safe”.

Ted shares some of them with his boss and his players to “guard and protect” them at all times.

My daughter is the one who suggested that I watch Ted Lasso in the first place, so of course, I had to make some of these Ted Lasso “Biscuits with the Boss”, complete with some army men, for her and our little Poppy-on-the-way “to keep them safe.” 💕

Fortunately, the package of army guys was easy enough to find at the Dollar Tree, and I made my own little pink box from cardstock using THIS free template that you can print, cut, and glue in a matter of minutes.

I lined my pink box with a small piece of parchment paper because these biscuits are buttery. Obviously. Because that’s what makes them so, so goooood.

You guys, Ted Lasso is such a great, feel-good show with a positive can-do message. (However, due to some adult language, I would not call it a family show, just so you are aware.)

It’s the perfect show when you just want something heart-warming, fun, and light.

Sounds so delicious (and low cal!) and your presentation is adorable. When my granddaughter came to spend a weekend recently, she got me hooked on Ted Lasso, me, someone who hasn’t watched TV in years. I am all caught up with the episodes now. New one tomorrow! Thanks for sharing this delectible sounding recipe. I will give them a try! Smiles, Linda at Paper Seedlings
