As soon as I spotted Organic Jalapeño Limeade in the aisle of TJ’s, I knew it was destined to become some kind of cocktail. Not long after that shopping excursion, I came home from work to this incredible surprise from my husband– flowers and Trader Joe’s Jalapeño Limeade Watermelon Margaritas waiting for me.
There were something like 3 days left in the hardest school year of my 30-year teaching career, and I was struggling. This sweet little surprise helped give me a much needed boost.
But, you don’t have to be a hot mess to mix up one of these Trader Joe’s Jalapeño Limeade Watermelon Margaritas. This cocktail is perfect for casual summer sippin’.
How to Make Trader Joe’s Jalapeño Limeade Watermelon Margaritas
Use a blender or juicer to make fresh watermelon juice. You’ll need 4 ounces of watermelon juice to make 2 margaritas. Strain the watermelon juice into a container through a fine mesh sieve to remove any pulp.
Using Trader Joe’s Organic Jalapeño Limeade makes this recipe super easy, because it already contains the jalapeño flavoring and the sweetener, but if you don’t have access to it, you could substitute jalapeño simple syrup. I’ve included the instructions for making the syrup, and the adjustments, on the recipe card below.

Jalapeño Simple SyrupAdd 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar to a small saucepan. Slice 1 jalapeño and add it to the pan. If you want less heat in your margaritas, remove the ribs and seeds from the jalapeño before adding to the pan. Simmer until the sugar has dissolved. Cool, strain the jalapeño syrup into a mason jar or container with a lid, then refrigerate. This will make enough syrup for several margaritas, so you can easily keep it in your fridge for more cocktails another night.
