Decorating for Valentine’s Day with Vintage Dishes

My sweet mother-in-law recently gifted me several pieces of crystal and vintage glass, and I felt like I had just won the lottery!

I brought them home, and decided right away they’d look lovely mixed in with some of my pink depression glass and white milk glass for a Valentine’s disply. 💕

You can see how I gave this antique corner cabinet a makeover HERE. I love how perfectly it works for seasonal decorating and displaying my favorite vintage items on a rotating basis.

On the top of the cabinet, I have a vintage cut lead crystal water pitcher that I brought home from my mom’s. It was in the same box as my antique glass cake stand, but I can’t find out much about this pitcher, so if you know anthing about it, I’d love to hear it! Please drop me a comment!

Inside the crytal pitcher, I placed several of my favorite faux tulips in pretty Valentine-y colors.

I also have two sets of crystal candle holders on top–the Waterford set is from my mother-in-law, and the Gorham set is from my Grandma Rose from 1993. They look so pretty displayed with tall tapered candles in pink and white.

The rest of the shelves are a mixture of:

  • my mother-in-law’s crystal
  • pink depression glass–mostly from my mom and grandmother, but some that I’ve collected
  • a few pieces of white milk glass.
  • my mom’s antique cream and sugar set

Mixing in some tulips, wood block signs (Target Dollar Spot), pink heart paper doilies, and stuffed fabric hearts creates a sweet pink and white look that’s perfect for Valentine’s Day.

I love being able to display my favorite things in this way. All of my vintage treasures and family keepsakes can come out on a rotating basis to be enjoyed for awhile, and then put away to make room for more. 💕

Happy Valentine’s Day,
