Prime Purchases–August 2020

It’s time again to round up all my Prime Purchases for the past month. Today I’m linking up with Tanya, and several other bloggers to share all the great things that have been delivered to our doorsteps lately.

I’ve spent the last 2 or 3 weeks working on getting my office in shape. Rather than just haul my laptop with me to the kitchen island or the porch, I decided I’d prefer a dedicated place to blog. Plus, with school heading back in session soon, I think it’s highly likely that I will be doing online teaching off and on this year, as long as Coronavirus is running the show, at least.

The first few Prime Purchases are for my office makeover, which I will be ready to share with you before too much longer! I just have a few finishing touches to complete and then I’ll post the whole room for you to see. I’ve been using it already. and am loving!

Rugshop Transitional Floral Damask Area Rug 7′ 10″ x 10′ Gray

I already had this exact same rug in the 5×7′ size, but it was just too small for the room, so I ordered it in the bigger size. It really warms the room up and brings in some pattern. 💜. This rug is really good quality for the price. The previous, smaller one, was in here for 2 years, and still looks brand new. It’s got a great texture and beautiful rich colors of shades of gray and ivory.

Elegant Designs Textured Glass Table Lamp, Mercury/White

I have a love affair with mercury glass. Nearly every lamp I own has mercury glass, as well as several candle holders and other accessories. This lamp is gorgeous in person. I love how it adds some sparkle in my office, but still fits with my color scheme. Plus, it’s the perfect size for a desk lamp.

Linon Talia Office Chair, Gray

This office chair looks so beautiful in my office. I adore the subtle gray polka dot pattern, the tufted back, and the barn wood finish on the legs. I’ve been using it for about a month now, and have no complaints. I love it when form meets function. 💜

General Finishes Water Based Milk Paint, 1 Quart, Empire Gray

General Finishes Milk Paint is my most favorite paint! It glides on smoothly, and self levels, so any brush marks virtually disappear. It has a satin-y finish, and because it’s “milk paint” it doesn’t require a lot of prep before painting.

I used it recently on my Antique Hope Chest Makeover and it was a dream. This little quart-sized can was $42 dollars at Home Depot, and only $35 on Amazon, so having it sent directly to my door with free Prime shipping was a no-brainer. And, this quart has gone a long way! I have painted two actual pieces of furniture with it, plus two smaller items already, and it’s still got about 1/4 left in the can! It’s really a great value.

PLUS, this Empire Gray color is the most perfect warm gray. Grays are hard to get right–sometimes they are too blue or even purple-y in some lighting, but not this one. Spot on warm gray.

SOL DE JANEIRO Brazilian Bum Bum Cream 75ml

I ordered this cream based on a recommendation from a reader. There’s a bit of a risk sometimes, when buying a lotion or perfume online, when you can’t actually smell it for yourself. I was not disappointed though.

In the couple of weeks since I’ve had it, several people have already commented on how good I smell! 🤣. And guys, that’s really saying something, because I haven’t gotten within 6 feet of practically anyone except my husband since March! So the fact they they can detect this scent from a distance and comment is impressive!

It has presented some awkward moments though, when they say, “Mmmmm, what kind of perfume are you wearing? I like it.”

When I respond, “Oh, that’s my Bum Bum Cream,” strange looks have followed. 😳

Be warned.

Certified iPhone Charger Lightning Cable, 5Pack 6Feet Extra Long Nylon Braided

I needed a longer charger for beside my bed, and this 5-pack was not much more than a single 6-foot charger. I like that’s its braided and flexible.

Wickedly Prime Roasted Cashews, Coconut Toffee, 8 Ounce

These were recommended to me by another blogger. When I’m home alone all day, I don’t typically eat lunch, preferring instead to nibble. This Coconut Toffee flavor is insanely good. I also purchased the Honey Sesame flavor below, but haven’t tried them yet.

Peet’s Coffee Major Dickason’s Blend, Dark Roast, 75 Count K-Cups

No surprise here…. more coffee. I buy almost all my K-Cups on Amazon and this Major Dickason’s Blend is a favorite. It averages out to only 50 cents per cup, which is pretty darn good.

What have you been Priming lately? I’d love to know! I found both the Coconut Toffee Cashews and the Bum Bum Cream through reader recommendations. Do y’all have any suggestions for me?

Happy Priming,

    1. Amazon had so many options when I was searching for a desk chair recently! We even tried searching at several places in town, because I thought I wanted to sit in a chair before buying, but Amazon had the best selection and price, and I’m happy with my chair, even though I didn’t get to try it out first. 😂

  1. Love the lamp…I have one similar with a black shade, but think I need this one as well! I ordered these –
Bottle Bright (12 Tablets) – All Natural, Biodegradable, Chlorine & Odor Free Water Bottle & Hydration Pack Cleaning Tablets
My Contigo stainless bottles were terrible and nothing I used could clean them. I used 1/2 a tablet in the bottles and let it sit overnight. WOW…the residue just slid out…the bottles look like new.
Thanks for sharing your finds…enjoy the rest of the month!
